Taipei Hotels with Breakfast

Self Check in and out process quite easy. Firs room assigned to me, housekeeping not done thourough. Telephone panel and chair is dirty. Checked in at 9pm, yet to sat on the chair. Was about the sit on the chair and realised there was hair. It's definitely not my hair. Sofa one side is sunken, felt some safety concerns and requested to change room at 11pm. FO unable to accommodate as my room type was fully booked for the night. Stayed in the originally assigned room for the first night, then switched room the next day. New room was a little better. Downside is soundproofing, any commotions outside the corridor can be heard. Location is great. Nestled between exit 4 and 5 of Ximen Stn. Exit 4 has an escalator and lift while exit 5 is staircas leading to the train stn. Can come up from exit 4 if you have luggage with you. Basic hotel room amentities are provided (water kettle, hair dryer, towels, coffee mugs etc).

We have been staying here before the pandemic, and even after the re-opening of borders, we came to Taiwan almost yearly and stayed here. Cleanliness is tip top and service good. Location is preferred if you are travelling to other counties using the train. It is also near the MRT Bannan line. However, since late 2024, no more toiletries amenities been provided, not even mineral water. Although there are water collection points, the management should at least look into providing a jug or something for users to collect the water with. Not every foreign country has the same practice of carrying their own tumbler wherever they go.

Bathroom and toilet bowl are separated, may be convenient for some users. The toilet bowl is the Japan type so some users would love it. Very convenient to go night market which is just few minutes walk from hotel. We always prefer no room service but the hotel housekeeping team is excellent and still provided us with refill amenities hung on our door. Usually no hotel would do that and we still need to call them if we need to refill anything such as new towels and amenity kit.

The Grand Hotel is one of the most famous hotels in Taiwan. It has a lengthy history as the first five-star hotel in the island. After living in Taiwan for a few years I decided to stay in the hotel to see what it was like. My impression is that the hotel is kind of old and is showing its age, but on the outside it still looks very distinctive. Good for taking photos. There is also the very large outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts that you can use for free, though the tennis courts seem to be fully booked at all times. I booked a room without a window to save money. The room itself is fine and I have no complaints about it, though for the price you can definitely get a bigger room elsewhere in Asia for sure. But I am already familiar with Taipei hotel prices, especially on weekends, so it is what it is. What was actually underrated about this hotel is that you can do a short hike behind the hotel and see great views of Taipei including the Taipei 101. Best to go visit on a nice day so you can get a clear view of the skyline.

The location is rather convenient as it is very near to Ximending, allowing us to visit the area frequently. There are many bus stops within walking distance. The hotel was only about 2-3 stops away from Taipei bus station. Our room was in the basement with no windows, but the ventilation was still fine. The room was very dimly lit, with the toilet having black floor tiles and dark blue wall tiles. There are mirrors on the ceiling and the bathroom and toilet are separated with a glass door, with only a curtain to cover. The aircon was extremely strong and there seemed to be no way to increase the temperature. We could only switch it off. The room was pretty clean and decently sized. The water dispenser was located on the second floor only, since we stayed at the basement level, we could not access it via the lift and could only take the stairs. There are paid washing machines and dryers available but we did not use them. They offer luggage storage services which was really convenient, and you can store your luggage even after checkout for free until midnight, which is great for those taking night flights.

I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights, and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I had anticipated, given that it is a 5-star hotel. Upon arrival, I was given a room that was different from the one I had booked (Metro Room instead of Superior double room). When I approached the front desk to address this issue, I was told it was a “free upgrade” which was not mentioned during check in. The front desk manager even mentioned that the metro room feels smaller and understands our concerns. Despite this, we decided not to request a room change since we were only there for two nights. The front desk manager had a stern demeanor throughout our conversation, which made the experience even more unwelcoming. Later that night, we encountered another problem: the shower water would unexpectedly switch to scalding hot without any adjustments, and when we tried to cool it down, it turned ice cold. Additionally, the shower area had an old, musty smell, and the toilet seat has a yellowish hue that was quite unpleasant. While the blackout curtains were effective in blocking light, they did not cover a specific part of the room, leaving us with an inconsistent sleeping environment. I must say, the location of the hotel somewhat salvaged our experience, as it was conveniently situated. Moreover, the concierge staff were incredibly kind and helpful, assisting us with booking a taxi when we were leaving. Overall, the hotel feels very dated and in need of significant renovations. I had hoped for a much better experience, especially given that this is a 5-star hotel, but sadly, it did not live up to expectations.

Good hotel, comfortable family room. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. 15mins walking distance to Ximending walking street, very near to a 24hrs carrefour which is just diagonal to the hotel (crossing 1 big road). Free “all you can eat” snacks for hotel guests, the kids were super happy and enjoying.

The overall experience is good. This Mandarin Oriental's setting overall feels a bit small in terms of lobby waiting area. Feels like it's separated into many different parts. Room layout is nice. Water pressure is very strong. Breakfast is good. Gym facilities are not the newest but sufficient for a decent workout.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was truly impressed by both its location and service. The hotel is conveniently situated near the MRT, with plenty of coffee shops and department stores just a short walk away. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent, and although the in-room amenities were somewhat limited, the front desk was more than happy to provide anything we needed upon request. During our stay, our baby unfortunately got sick from food poisoning, which left the bed sheets and towels in a bad state. Despite it being 2 AM, the duty manager promptly knocked on our door and offered help, including checking if we needed assistance going to the hospital. I was deeply touched by their kindness and professionalism during such a stressful moment. Thanks to the great service and ideal location, I’ll definitely be returning to stay here again in the future.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Cosmos Hotel Taipei and I can’t say enough about how enjoyable the experience was. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that cleanliness and tidiness were top priorities here. The lobby was spotless, with a fresh and welcoming atmosphere, and that same attention to detail carried over into my room. The bed was perfectly made, the surfaces gleamed, and there wasn’t a speck of dust to be found. It’s the kind of place where you feel instantly at ease knowing everything is so well-maintained.
