The hotel is located upstream of the river which is quieter. The hotel is not on the busiest part of the river. The room is mainly on the fourth floor and can have a distant view of the river. The proprietress is attentive and provides maps and introductions to scenic spots. Also a comfortable hotel.

This city is beautiful on the water, but beware of mosquitoes! I personally would stay no more than one night. You pay for the great location - right on the river and by all the hustle and bustle. The party does not stop at 10pm - I swear it was loud outside until 2am and you definitely hear it. The room we chose (with a large patio) was extremely small and cramped. We couldn't enjoy our patio during the summer because there were so many mosquitoes at the door. We left a mosquito-repellant incense at the patio door and that helped a little, but we didn't dare having tea outside like we originally wanted. The hotel also didn't feel secure. Our room was by the back door, which stayed open for most hours of the day. It was very convenient to get to our room, but the open door felt like a safety hazard. They said that they would close it at midnight, but that is too late for my comfort. Service was okay at best. They tried contacting us before we arrived but we don't have a Chinese phone number. Responses through WeChat were a bit slow during some hours, and sometimes the front desk was empty. Perhaps we were just unlucky. The morning we left, the manager lady seemed the most competent and warm, but everyone else was a bit lackluster. The room is old, and the bathroom has rusting metal. Toiletries were at least covered the essentials. No welcome snacks, but at least there were two bottles of water. Is it bad for us to expect more at the price we're paying? Among all the high end hotels we stayed at during our trip at this price point, this was the least impressive by far. The hotel pictures felt misleading on terms of quality and cleanliness.

Room was good; comfortable bed, bathroom was fine, room was clean, and had a little desk and kettle too. Location is great, right in the heart of the ancient town and close to so many key parts. Booked in last minute (as my original hotel was abandoned when I arrived ( called ”Yuanmengzhan (Phoenix Ancient City Branch” - don't go there!), so the man was very understanding and accommodating. Overall great value.

Next to it is the Snow Bridge. It is so bright when the lights are turned on at night! In the evening, the boss's family came to visit and also invited me, a outsider, to dine with them. I tasted the aunties' authentic Changsha dishes and we all had a great time chatting! Because it is close to the river, sitting on the balcony with the door open, you even feel like you are on the river. You don't have to squeeze in the surging crowd downstairs. You can sit on the balcony hanging chair, enjoy the evening breeze, drink a little wine, and listen to the bar The singing is really a pleasure!

If you are bringing elderly children or a lot of luggage to Phoenix, you must follow the local driver's phone call given by the boss. You can't get a car at all. Now the weather is hot. Although the homestay is very close to Nanhuali, it is really a taxi to drag your luggage. We arrived at noon and had a full meal at KFC in Nanhua. We had been resting in the afternoon. In the evening, we went out to play in the Lijiang River. We went to eat the authentic blood duck and drank rice wine. I didn’t expect that the travel shoot would take so long. It was almost 12 o’clock and I didn’t go shopping. At three o'clock in the middle of the night, the child got up and vomited and pulled. Acute gastroenteritis. It was inconvenient to take a taxi here. There was no ticket to change the train. Later, the child fell asleep at about five o'clock. I decided to go to Wuhan early in the morning according to the original ticket. Go to the road in the morning to see if there is a taxi. The ancient city of Phoenix in the early morning has no commercial embellishment. Now I am sitting on the high-speed rail back to Hebei. The child’s body has basically recovered after a day off in Wuhan. This time the child suddenly fell ill. The effect of the travel photography I set is also very unsatisfactory. I basically didn’t visit the ancient city much. But I still think Phoenix is very good and will come again in the future. I want to have a convenient location with this homestay. Aye brilliant hotel. Super clean. Nice people. They gave me many fruits and tea. Location is just outside the chaos, so if you want to have your home quiet, but be less than a 5 minute walk from the noisy energy, then this is great. One of the staff helped me flag down a taxi and get me to the train as I was running very late. Maybe I would have missed my train otherwise. So I am happy.

The boss is a middle-aged couple, friendly and enthusiastic, always caring about us by phone and then contacting the distance, the homestay is in the ancient city, the parking lot and the river are long, convenient. The first day we arrived at just after 6 pm on Friday, the most people in the ancient city, the boss helped us find a parking space for almost two hours, very careful thank them. There are several rooms, and the layout and style of each room are not the same. Some rooms have old objects from the boss. Overall it is a great homestay, recommended!
