The rooms are small but I can see why this place gets so many favorable reviews.
The televisions are the biggest I've ever seen in a hotel room. Mounted to the wall to get an ideal viewing angle. This must've cost a fortune. Wifi worked great so streaming YouTube from phone to TV was seamless. Rooms are simple but look and smell new. Smart toilet included. Breakfast was delicious but be prepared to cook and do your own dishes. The terrace and rooftop are beautiful touches. Staff was enthusiastic.
Highly recommend this place!

YYOUNG CHEOLIt is a practical accommodation with good value for money! It is close to Hwangridan-gil, so it is quiet, and the communal dining area is good.
GGuest UserThe staff at Bonghwang are very kind and helpful. The room was very comfortable but it smelled like stale cigarette smoke despite that I was told no smoking is allowed in the building. Some stains on the bedding. Otherwise it was quite clean, welcoming, and comfortable place to stay. It's located within walking distance of many delicious places to eat or things to do. The buses are convenient and close by as well. I would definitely stay here again. I didn't make use of the breakfast offered because I traveled with friends who booked their accommodations separately and we walked around in the morning during breakfast hour.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located about ten minutes' walk from the famous Huanglipdan-ro in Gyeongju.
The service staff are very kind and patient.
The breakfast buffet bar on the first floor of the hotel is also delicious in the morning.
But the room seems to have a central air conditioning system. Although it is winter,
However, the heating inside the room was quite strong, making it very stuffy inside all night.
If you drive there by yourself, it is recommended to check in in advance because there are not many parking spaces in the hotel.
If you arrive too late, you must park in a nearby public parking lot.
AAlexeyA place which gives both the sense of a traditional Korean hanok house and a very sophisticated hi-tech stay. The check-in was smooth, the check-out was as simple as possible. The welcome drink is a bottle of moscato wine. The breakfast could have been better, but that's a minor point. The location is not right in the historic center, but the positive side is the lack of tourists and silence by night. The wooden (Hinoki) bath is located right in the room, which is not comfortable for the family stay, perhaps it is better suited for the romantic couples.
AAngelineOverall this is a nice place to stay for 1 night. Location is just outside the main visitor area which is good for us because we don’t mind the walk as exercise to walk off the food we eat. Owners are great! Very friendly and surprise each guest with simple breakfast to start of the day even though we didn’t asked for breakfast to be included. Only small inconvenience is our room didn’t come with on-suite bathroom and we have to use our bathroom at the yard which is what Koreans used to do in olden times when bathrooms are outside of the main house. It’s quite an interesting experience for me to wake up in the middle of the night to go to the yard in pitch black darkness looking for slippers to wear and running to the bathroom 😜
AAndreasMThe accommondation offers a luggage storage in the communal area which is protected via camera. The staff is not available in person throughout the day beside the check-in time. We got a free room upgrade because of our ”long-term” stay. The room was small with two beds and an own bathroom but enough and clean. The mattress is very hard and uncomfortable.
The best part was the free basic breakfast (coffee, tea, eggs, toast, butter, yam) and the communal area and kitchen to eat, work and communicate.
It´s nearby the bus terminal to reach all parts of Gyeongju including the KTX train station.
GGuest UserLocated in the ancient city of Qingzhou, the yard is very large and beautiful. The room is Korean-style without beds and chairs, sleeping on the floor. The bathroom is clean but the facilities are very primary, and the shower nozzle water is relatively small. Very suitable for tourists who want to experience the Korean-style homestay. The front desk was very good. We lost our mobile phone. We took us to the police station to communicate with the police. Finally, we found it. I was very grateful.
AAuricWe didn’t expect a lot but we received much.
We arrived, three hours after closing tiime, but the host person waited for us. He greeted us with real Korean kindness and respect. We walked in to a warm and clean room. we absolutely recommend this place and would come again.
The place is a away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the surrounding area is really beautiful. it was really lovely. We understand that some international travelers may not be able to get here easily, we came with a car so it’s great.
Pro
* Beautiful environment and scenery
* Lovely Temperature control room
* Absolutely clean bathroom
* Outdoor BBQ on balcony is really great
Cons
* travellers would need a car to get there easily
GGuest UserThe boss is friendly and close to the city.
It's good.
If you have one unfortunate thing, consider the building a bit old.
I think you should go.
GGuest UserPros: Spacious two-floor space. Quiet and wonderful place to relax. The very large private pool and the public pool is nice. The view in the back is of fields. There is a private outdoor seating for every room. book rooms 4,5, or 6 for better views.
Cons: A little out of the town. Cabs are easy to get unless it is raining or late a night. Suggestions for the hotel: please arrange for simple breakfast. There are no close by places to eat. The coffee shop opens at 10 am. Also please provide bath towels instead of just hand towels. The bed was small and very hard. The bedroom is very large so a larger bed would be nice.
With a better bed and a provision for breakfast, I would stay here again.
