The Strand Hotel is a good hotel in a nice beach location. We had a warm welcome from staff who were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location as is in walking distance to the beach on the east side. The room was comfortable and had a good view of the beach. We chose to eat in one of the hotel's two restaurants twice, the Brewer and Butcher. The food was very nice on both occasions we dined there. The choice for breakfast was extensive and very good.

This was booked though my tour company. The hotel is clean, nice, in a safe neighborhood. The breakfast buffet is superb. Our balcony overlooked the ocean, and they have a fitness center (small, but glad they still had it). The staff is attentive and ready to help.

We stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking the beach. Everything was nice within the hotel, but we were disappointed with the downtown part of the city there. There were many aggressive, panhandlers, and people trying to sell wears, so aggressive that several in our family were uncomfortable shopping and walking around on the streets.

TV and lights turned on and off at the same time every night waking us up. We spoke with management and asked to change rooms and they said they would have someone go and fix the problem but they never did. It was off-season and the hotel seemed like it had plenty of vacant rooms. Bottom line, 3 nights in a row with little sleep. Do not recommend!
